ATTORNEY PROFILE

My philosophy is that honesty and integrity mean everything.  I have found that the older I get, the more I have learned that many individuals will take unfair advantage of others and I find that as a lawyer, I have the ability to call those to justice for the ones who cannot do so themselves.  I strive to protect honest, good and well-meaning individuals from unscrupulous and underhanded actors.

I began my legal career in 2003 as an Attorney for the Child (AFC) in Albany, Saratoga, and Montgomery County Family Courts, representing children in matters involving custody, visitation, paternity, abuse and neglect, and orders of protection.  As an AFC, I vigorously advocated on behalf of the child client to ensure that the needs of the child were met and that the best interests of the child were protected.

In 2005, I accepted a position with the State of New York as Special Counsel for DMV.  During this time, I was solely responsible for prosecutions across the entire state against individuals and businesses licensed by NYS for various traffic and safety-related violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and NYS rules and regulations.  Thereafter, I accepted an Assistant Counsel position for DMV’s Legal Bureau in which I worked closely with the Office of the Attorney General to defend the agency in hundreds of Article 78 proceedings filed in NYS Supreme Court.  I also defended the agency against Human Rights Complaints alleging discrimination filed by the public and employees in federal court as well as before the Division of Human Rights. In addition, I drafted legislation and regulations, and handled hundreds of state contracts, which included assisting in procurements, drafting and reviewing the contracts, researching legal issues and providing legal analysis and advising agency business units on legal matters. I was also appointed as the Agency’s Ethics Officer, and responsible for ensuring the Agency’s 500+ employees were in compliance with ethics laws.

In 2021, I made the decision to retire from my position as Assistant Counsel and begin a private practice in Saratoga Springs.  I strive to represent clients in an honest, forthright manner and to provide aggressive representation in the most cost-effective manner possible. I am currently a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Saratoga County Bar Association. I have two adult sons who, along with their beautiful wives, are my pride and joy.  I live in the Saratoga Springs area overlooking beautiful Saratoga Lake with the other loves of my life – my husband, two adorable little dogs, and three cats!!!  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for walks, and kayaking.
